Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Mets Media House (operated by Jordan Hunter, trading as Mets Media, ABN 13 906 945 371) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit this website, download a guide, or otherwise get in touch with us. We're a small business based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, working Australia-wide.
We handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you fill in a form on this site, for example to download a guide or book a call, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Any other details you choose to include, such as a phone number or company name, if a form asks for it
We also automatically collect some technical information when you browse the site, including your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed. This is standard for any website and is collected via cookies and similar tracking technologies (see below).
How we use it
We use the information you give us to:
- Send you the guide or resource you requested
- Respond to enquiries and follow up on bookings, such as a call
- Send occasional relevant updates about our services, if you've opted in to hear from us. You can unsubscribe at any time
- Understand how people find and use this site, so we can improve it
We don't sell your information to anyone, ever.
Cookies, analytics and advertising tracking
Meta Pixel and Conversions API. We use Meta's (Facebook/Instagram) tools to measure how our ads perform and to show relevant ads. The Meta Pixel runs in your browser and records things like pages visited, actions taken (such as submitting a form) and general device information.
When you submit the guide form, our website's server also sends that sign-up to Meta directly, using Meta's Conversions API. This includes your email address, first name and country in hashed form (converted into a scrambled code that can't be read back), plus your IP address, browser details and Meta's cookie identifiers. Meta uses this to match the sign-up to a Facebook or Instagram account, so we can measure which ads work. We don't send your phone number, your answers to our application form, or anything else you've told us.
Meta's use of this data is governed by its own policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can manage the ads you see in your Meta account's ad preferences.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site: pages viewed, approximate location, device type, and whether a guide was requested. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Cloudflare. Our site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and browser details to deliver and secure the site, and may record basic traffic statistics.
Ad blockers and browser privacy settings may stop some browser-based tracking. Guide sign-ups are still reported to Meta from our server as described above.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of third-party services to run this site and follow up with enquiries. Your information may pass through:
- Google Workspace, for email correspondence and booking calls through Google Calendar
- Google Analytics, for website statistics
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram), for advertising measurement, via the Pixel and Conversions API described above
- Cloudflare, our website hosting and security provider
- SMTP2GO, which delivers the guide and other transactional email
- Resend, which delivers application form submissions to our team
We don't share your personal information with anyone outside of running our business and communicating with you, unless we're legally required to.
Where your information goes
Some of the providers above store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We only use providers that commit to protecting your information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.
How we store and protect it
Your information is stored securely with our service providers listed above, each of which has its own security and data-handling standards. Accounts are protected by two-factor authentication and data moves over encrypted connections. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and subscriber details are kept while there's a live reason to have them, and removed on request. Records tied to work we've invoiced are kept for seven years, because tax law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct any information that's wrong or out of date
- Delete your information or unsubscribe from communications
Just email us using the details below. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our services or tools change. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
